Dialectal means the combination of opposites between the strategies of acceptance and change within the primary dialect. The therapist sees the patient /clients accepts them as they are but is fully aware of the fact that they must change in order for them to go forward with their lives. The training that goes into DBT training for professionals is an intense one.

Behavioral Tech disorder, founded by Dr Marsha Linehan has combined teams to be able to work with some very complex disorders by using a combination of compassion and scientifically valid treatments. Dialectical Behavior Therapy is more of an intellectual approach to treatment that was developed to help patients that suffer from borderline personality disorder. These patients have been diagnosed and set aside as individuals that are suicidal along with some other very serious personality conditions, like post-traumatic stress disorders, eating disorders and intense depression.

Each therapist must go through four separate stages with the client in order to rule out serious behavior concerns and deal with them first. By working through this systematically, each stage is designed to help the client reach the best they can. Research has shown, there has been a decrease in reducing serious cases.

Marsha, in the late 1970s attempted to apply the standard therapy to clients who were suffering with serious conditions and had a history of chronic suicidal attempts with intentions and no-suicidal injury inflictions. By researching this study, she was interested in investigating whether or not this standard study would apply to most clients. Unfortunately the problems that were found were seen to be particularly troublesome for her as well as her team.

Set out in components this has four forms of study. The skills training group helps to focus on presenting the best behavior skills in order to enhance the capabilities of the client., as individual therapy focuses on motivating the clients own personal encouragement from within. Phone coaching is in-the-moment training that equips the client in their difficult situations and finally therapy consultation which is directed at the therapist to be able to give the best possible treatment.

The skills taught include a set of four behavioral skills. There are namely mindfulness that is the practice of being aware every moment of every day and distress tolerance which is aimed at tolerating pain in difficult situations. Interpersonal effectiveness focuses on one remaining respectful and calm when saying no to others and emotional regulation is to change emotions to want is needed at the time.

The clients that DBY is aimed at have multiple problems. There are a hierarchy of treatments that they therapist must go through in order to determine which problems need to be addressed first. There is a priority list of treatment target that they must go through, namely life threatening behaviors, therapy-interfering behaviors, and quality life behaviors and skills acquisition.

The skills that the client will have once they have gone through this treatment will help them to deal with further concerns in the future. As they will always suffer from this so they are advised to continuously check-up. There are plenty of great techniques that one is bound to learn through DBT professionals' training.
