Some Great Expectations Of CIAA 2017

The northeastern part of the US plays host to one of the most intense and highly recognized collegiate leagues. It is a unique conference that generates the best and most inspiring athletes with great national media and corporate exposure. It has also followed the destinies of black colleges and universities since 1912, making it the oldest African American league in the country.

CIAA stands for Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, with members in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland. There are 12 member schools in all, belonging to Division II of the NCAA. Great things are expected in upcoming CIAA 2017, with awaited schedules for sports events, shows and other unique events for its fanbase. It has recently partnered with Bounce TV, which has agreed to cover championships and major sporting events.

The conference has a proud and amazing tradition that is tied to the freedom of African Americans to participate in higher education as well as sports. It left is old Hampton Virginia home and relocated Charlotte, NC in 2015 and has new major corporate support. North Carolina is where 8 of league campuses are, and they officially participate in eight sports for men and an equal eight sports for women.

The members are all historic and known for their sterling qualities, having fought courageous battles for the rights of students and the society of educated women and men. The membership list will include, Elizabeth City State U, Fayetteville S. U., Bowie and Chowan. They are joined by Lincoln, Johnson C. Smith University and Livingstone College.

To round up the membership list are Saint Augustine, Shaw, Virginia State, Virginia Union University and Winston Salem State. The brand has had its ups and downs, and is perhaps one of the best competiors in an NCAA area that is probably the most competitive in the country. Again, some great developments are coming to the fore the conference in 2017.

A great many people in the country have known it as a crown jewel in intercollegiate sports, having a unique and amazing value to sports. Since its transfer to Charlotte in North Carolina, a sports renaissance of sorts has come to blooming life in the city, gathering great numbers of excellent professional and amateur athletes in after event celebrations. Celebrities have thronged these events in record numbers, too.

For exceptional fan experience, learn about conference schedules this coming 2017. Many events are still to be determined, but for sure a lot of professional and college basketball games will be featured. Of course, Charlotte will host the tourney from February 20th to 25th.

A lot of visitors are expected, probably in tens of thousands this coming year. Last year saw a great increase in visitors and guests for events, and many say that this year will be new record setter as well. This is the fruit of hard work among tournament organizers, players and member universities and colleges who are outstanding in making the sports experience exceptional for all.

Some official venues are the Bojangles Coliseum and the Spectrum Center. The reason is that that there are so many are being planned for. Of course, the official arena for major functions will be the Charlotte Convention Center, located at 501 College Street in the city of Charlotte.
