This can be an experience that you will want to put out of your mind. However, by doing this, you will just transfer it to the subconscious. It will always be something that you will carry around with you.

Extroverted people may find that they want to work in a group. It can be helpful to talk to other people because you will find that you have something in common with people who have been affected in the same way. However, counsellors also suggest that you carry on with the one on one therapy as well. You feel as if you are in a safe environment.

Not everything can be discussed in a group. Sometimes, you feel as if you want more attention. You want to be assured that nothing leaves the room. You will feel as if you have built up a good relationship with the therapist on a one on one basis, as opposed to someone in a group environment. The relationship that you build with the therapist is very important because you will feel that you are able to trust them. This is not something that comes naturally for the person with PTSD.

You may also be referred to someone else who specialized in a specific method. It could be that you need to build up your self esteem. Cognitive behaviour therapy can be effective for this. The person will learn to become more positive over time, and escape from most of those negative emotions which are common when you are suffering in this way.
