Reputable Charities Help Underprivileged Members Of Society

By Cynthia Green

There is blessing in giving. It is better to give than to receive. The most blessed people on earth are those who give. The giving hand will never face lack but will always have abundance. Giving to reputable charities is the best thing that a person can do. The money given will end up improving lives all over the world. It is a great human virtue to help a person who is in need. On the other hand, it is a vice to ignore a suffering person if an individual is in a position to offer much needed help.

A reputable charity will help in the area of poverty. A famous British statesman once said that poverty is a scar in the conscience of the world. A Nobel Peace Prize winner from Bangladesh said that future generations should only see poverty in the museums. Poverty is a sad thing. It is very unfortunate that in a world of plenty there are still people who are living in utter poverty.

A charity that has a poverty eradication program does a great service to society. Such an organization does not only give people the fish. Instead, it teaches people how to fish. That is the best way to break the vicious circle of poverty and end up lifting an individual or even an entire society from the jaws of dire poverty.

Charity work is not only constrained to the issue of poverty eradication. It can also involve empowering people with education. As a matter of fact, education is one of the greatest gifts that can be given to a person. An educated person will be able to get a job and that will make him to earn an income at the end of the day.

To educate one person is to educate the entire village. The educated individual will end up lifting many people out of poverty. In Africa, there are places where schools are rare. There are charitable organizations that are helping with the construction of schools in poor countries. These organizations also provide the various learning materials such as books and laptops.

Through charity, billions of people all over the world can be able to access the most basic needs. It is sad that what is a basic need in the Western world is a luxury in the developing world. No Westerner can consider food as a luxury. That is something that the typical Westerner has plenty of and throws some away.

Good charitable organizations dig boreholes in poor countries. These boreholes provide people with water. There are organizations that feed the hungry. In the West, people have plenty of food to the extent that they throw away a lot of food. In developing nations, many people normally go to bed hungry.

Charity work shows that a person cares. It is good to care for those who are in need. One needs to contribute to reputable charitable organizations. Of course, the best contribution is a cash donation. Charities all over the world need money so that they can be able to carry out their work. A good organization will use a significant chunk of the contributions for actual charity work and not administrative costs.
