The Sightseeing Marvel That Is The Road To Hana

By Patricia Harris

From botanical gardens to taro patches and spectacular seascapes, this stretch has garnered reputation for being among the highest rated drives globally. Driving through the seventy-mile stretch allows you to see the best of Hawaii. The road to Hana has some of the best scenery you would ever hope to see on a visit to this state. Armed with the right tips, you will get to enjoy the time you spend in this region.

For a smooth ride, it is recommended that you consider starting early. Depending on when you intend to travel, this path can at times be pretty congested. Starting early is the surest way to make sure that you will not get stuck behind some slow-pokes in certain sections of your journey.

Another reason why it will make sense to travel early is that this motorway is not even in all sections. Some sections are narrow which means that only one automobile can pass at a time. Due to this, you will often find long lines of vehicles parked by the roadside as they wait for other vehicles to pass the narrow sections. If you are determined to see as many spots as you can, ensure that you are ready to hit the road by six in the morning.

If you have ever been on a road trip before, then you realize the importance of making sure that you have all the supplies you will need for that trip. For this particular trip, you should note that you will come across very few stopping points where you can get something decent to bite or drink. Confirming that you are fully loaded on supplies is a great way to keep your hunger at bay while on the motorway.

Do not rush to pick your spots. Yes, it is true that this pathway is stunning. But this does not mean that you will actually get an opportunity or the time to view each waterfall up close. Attempting to stop at all the attractions you encounter will only act to stress you out. It is not possible to jam all these attractions in a one-day trip.

Spots you should not miss out on visiting will include the Hamoa Beach and Wailua Falls. New visitors may have a hard time making a decision on what to see and what not to see. For such people, they should ensure that they get their hands on the latest guidebooks.

You have to keep in mind that this is also one of the busiest roads in the state. As such, try to be respectful to the locals that you encounter on the road during your trip. Note that not everyone on the road will choose to travel at the same speed as you and your companions. If you notice someone behind you who appears to be in a hurry, give them the right of way and resume the journey when the road is clear.

Try and stay away from private properties. There are a number of smartphone applications and guidebooks that can reveal to you some secret spots that are only known to locals. Considering that all these spots are located in private property, it would be a good idea to make sure that you do not trespass during your sightseeing trip.
